Takedown notice

For retailers, rights-holders, and individuals requesting removal of a post, comment, or image from DealHive.

Plain-language process: we're a small team and we triage takedowns by hand. Send the details below to michael@seqit.com.au and we'll action genuine requests within two business days.

When you can request a takedown

DealHive aggregates community-submitted deals. We'll remove content in the following cases:

  • You're the retailer and the post misrepresents your price, promotion, terms, or stock availability.
  • You own the copyright or trademark and the post uses your imagery, logo, or other protected content without permission.
  • You're named in a comment that contains defamatory, harassing, or personal-information content.
  • The deal contains illegal content under Australian law (e.g. counterfeit goods, prohibited items, scams).
  • Expired or out-of-stock deals — though for these, anyone can click “Report” on the deal page rather than going through this process.

What to include in your email

To save back-and-forth, please send all of the following:

  1. The URL(s) of the deal page(s) or comment(s) you want removed (e.g. https://dealhive.com.au/deal/123).
  2. Your name and organisation (if applicable) and your relationship to the content — retailer / rights-holder / named individual / other.
  3. The reason for removal — which of the categories above applies, and specifically what is wrong with the post.
  4. Proof of authority where relevant — a domain email from the retailer (e.g. someone@retailer.com.au), a registered trademark number, or other evidence that you're entitled to act on the content.
  5. A statement that the information you're providing is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you're acting in good faith.

What happens next

  1. We acknowledge your email within one business day.
  2. We review the post or comment against our terms of use and the categories above.
  3. If the request is genuine we remove the content within two business days and email you confirmation. If we need more information we'll ask.
  4. If we don't think a takedown is warranted (e.g. accurate price coverage, fair commentary), we'll explain why. You can escalate by reply.

Counter-notice

If you're a DealHive user whose post or comment has been removed and you believe the takedown was incorrect, email the same address with the post URL and an explanation. We'll review with both sides in mind.

Bad-faith requests

We don't remove accurate price coverage or genuine consumer commentary just because a retailer dislikes it. Repeated bad-faith takedown attempts (false claims of ownership, attempts to suppress unflattering-but-true posts, mass requests) will be logged and may be referred to the ACCC.
